About Ultrasound Program:
Beyond X-ray imaging which has several limitations and liabilities,
ultrasonography, is the use of sound waves to produce an image for
the assessment and diagnosis of various patient conditions. Typically
associated with pregnacy, this technology has many other applications
in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions.
Ultrasound Work Environment:
Most sonographers work about 40 hours a week. Ultrasound depts. may
have evening or weekend hours when they are on call and must be ready
to report to work on short notice.
